Federico Zanellato began his career working in the top restaurants in Europe including La Pergola alongside Heinz Beck and The Ritz, London. After travelling to Japan, he developed a passion for Japanese food culture and underwent further training at Ryugin in Tokyo.

Federico commenced his Australian career at Ormeggio at the Spit as Head Chef, where he secured two Chef Hats during his four year tenure. During his time at Ormeggio, he also participated in a restaurant exchange program at Noma and Attica, providing further inspiration for his own food vision.

LuMi Dining is Federico’s first restaurant venture which is the synthesis of creativity and custom mastered throughout his career.

Since the opening in 2014, LuMi has been awarded 2 Chefs Hat by SMH Good Food Guide.

Federico has also recently been nominated Citi Chef of The Year 2017 by SMH Good Food Guide.

LuMi is ranked 13 in the Australian Top 100 restaurant 2018 by The Australian Financial Review.

Awarded in 2019 as best Italian restaurant in the world by Gambero Rosso International.
