Philip Shaw No.17 Merlot Cabernet Franc Cabernet 2006

“By adding together the plot numbers (2, 3, 5, and 7) from which the fruit for the first vintage of this wine was sourced, you’ll arrive at number 17. You’ll also arrive at a wine that is greater than the sum of its parts."

Merlot is going to be a star in this region, it has more potential in this type of climate then anywhere else. Having near perfect berry set every year – due to the elevation and high UV intensity."

"The reason I like this blend, the merlot has very soft, mouth-filling fruit, the cabernet sauvignon forms the structure and depth with cabernet franc giving the perfume and lift - They work beautiful together, its just a matter of blending with consideration."
